Doune Castle is a magnificent example of a 14th century courtyard castle.
Owned by Historic Scotland it is a very interesting visit for tourists.
The views from the battlements are quite stunning.
Doune Castle is also famous for being the location in most of the scenes in the 1975 film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
If you have seen the film it is very interesting to go round the castle and spot the scenes.
