Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most iconic images in Scotland.
Some regard this as the most beautiful castle in Scotland.
It is also said to be the most photographed castle in the world.
Once you are here, it is easy to see why.
Situated on an island in Loch Duich. The original castle was built in the 13th century and has been rebuilt, destroyed and rebuilt a few times during its violent past.
Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap bought the island in 1911 and took 20 years to turn the former ruin into the magnificent, castle we see today. It was opened in 1932.
